Brief Introduction

Institute of exploration, LiaoNing Non-ferrous Geology Bureau is a second-class legal unit. In order to suit the needs of reform for geology and exploration system ,it has regrouped its staff structure. Those technicians in geology, geophysical and geochemical exploration , measuring, drilling, laboratory testing and analyzing are all concentrated in our institute. It has undertaken geology prospecting and mining exploita-tion. It has a national certificate of geology and mineral exploration , and a first-class certificate of disaster geology issured by the Ministry of Land and Resources P.R.C. Besides solid mineral exploration, it has also prospected deposits in other geology fields like disaster geology ,engineering geology ,environmetal geology and agricultural geology.

Our institute owns 5 branches and a drilling company ,which are in Xinchengzi District of Shenyang, and in the cities such as Fushun, Chaoyang, Huludao and Dandong.It also has an Au mine whose name is Linjia Sandao-gou. Au deposit with the daily output 50 tons ores.

Our institute has rich talents resources and all necessary fittings . There are 401 staff  who are high knowledgeable.There are more than 500 sets of instruments. Its equipment for testing and analyzing ores reaches the international advanced level. The advanced modernized office installations have realized automa-tive officing , exchanged information through e-mail and fax,  processed data to form figures directly.

In the past half a century, our institute has been responsible for mineral  exploration in three provinces in Northeastern China and in eastern Inner Mongolian. Its exploration covers the following provinces such as Liaoning, Jinlin, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Inner Mongolian and Xinjiang. It has made some old mines restore their production, enlarge geology reserves, and lengthen their life. In the meanwhile, it has developed a lot of ore-forming areas and orefields, and taken some basic geology research and special study on the deposits.

The accumulative prospecting reserves for all kinds of deposits has their rates in the whole province: Cu 96.8%, Pb  86%, Zn 80.7%, Al 86% , Mo 87.8% , Au 48%, Ni 100%, and W 100%.  More than 40 large and middle scale metallic  and non-metallic deposits have been discovered which have better exploiting value and higher economic benefit, like Hongtoushan Cu deposit, Yangjiazhangzi Mo deposit, Qingchengzi Pb-Zn deposits, Hongqiling Ni deposit,  Songjiang Cu deposit, Bajiazi abundant Ag-Pb-Zn deposits, Huairen Cu-Zn deposits, Lanjiagou Mo deposit , Xinhua Mo deposit, Baizhangzi Au deposit, Wulong Au deposit, Maojiadian Au deposit, Baiyun Au deposit, Gaojiapuzi Ag deposit, Tongjiapuzi Au deposit, Yangshu Au deposit ,Jiajiapuzi Fe deposit, Mengjiapuzi Fe deposit, Nanfen Fe deposit, Gaotaizi cement limestone deposit.

All our toils has brought great success. During 1981-2000, our institute had undertaken 27 national and provincial science and research subjects and tens of large-scale geology exploration items.

◆ Discovery and exploration of Xiaojiayingzi Cu-Mo deposits has gotten a science and technology achieve-ment prize of Ministry of Metalurgy, an important science and technology achievement prize of Liaoning Province, and an important contribution prize of national scientific conference.

  ◆ Prospecting report on Lanjiagou Liaoning Mo deposit has won the second prize of Ministry of Metallurgy, and the first prize of China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation .

◆ Research on the ore-forming rules and the direction of ore-prospecting for Qingchengzi Liaoning Pb-Zn deposits has won the important provincial science and technology achievement prize.

◆ Resources analyzing and geology economic evaluation of Liaoning Au deposit has awarded the first prize issued by China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation .

◆ Our prospecting staff has gotten a second-class merit in Ministry of Geology and Mineral Exploration for Liaodong Au deposit ore-prospecting items.

◆ Prospecting report of Linjia Fengcheng Liaoning Au deposit has won the third prize for quality progress of 1995’ national reserve committee .

◆General prospecting and research on key Au-Ag polymetallic ore-forming areas in eastern Liaoning has awarded a special prize by China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

◆Qingchengzi peripheral Au deposit has won the first prize by China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period .

◆The ore-forming environment,ore-forming rules,prospecting mark, ore-forming prediction study on Ag-Au polymetallic deposits in eastern Liaoning has awarded the second prize for scientific progress by China National Non-ferrous Metals Industry Corporation.

From 1999 on ,our institute has undertaken 15 national geology prospecting items, The accumulative pros-pecting resources Au 206 tons, Ag 1129 tons, Cu 32047 tons, Co 7848 tons. The evaluation of Au-Ag deposits in Qingchengzi Fengcheng Liaoning Pb deposit periphery has been spoken highly of by China Geological Survey.

Base on the advantage of geology ore-prospecting, we develop actively geology markets in other fields. We have made great success in  water exploration and utilizing water resources. Great achievements have been made in those fields like karst landscape resources, geohazards evalution, agricultural geology and environ-mental geology.

It is our policy to insist on regarding the market as a guide, making the geology exploration as a base, making the mining exploitation as a key, mainly developing one industry, and taking multimodal management. Base on resources advantage and ore-prospecting capability ,we take a scientific, standardized and specia-lized management to enforce the economic base ,enlarge the market and wholly accomplish enterprising in geology and mineral exploration .
